CARSHALTON Athletic moved to within a point of Hastings United on the edge of the play-offs with a hard-fought win at the War Memorial Stadium.
The 3G surface ensured the pitch was playable, though the crosswind affected the long throws of Hastings’ Ollie Black when he tried to launch the ball into it.
The two teams cancelled each other out and neither goalkeeper had too much to do in the way of shot-stopping.
