LEWES came, saw and conquered Hastings United, winning the game comfortably, taking the points and the local bragging rights, and closing the gap on their southcoast rivals in the playoff race into the bargain. The game started well for Hastings, who had a couple of throw-ins and a corner to put the pressure on the visitors. Nothing come of the pressure and both sides started to feel their way into the match.
