Oldham chief Rothwell on top of world
OLDHAM ATHLETIC chairman Frank Rothwell set a new world record as the oldest man to row the Atlantic Ocean – and then watched from Antigua as his Latics boosted their promotion dream.
The 73-year-old completed an epic 64-day solo row from the Canary Islands on Thursday afternoon.
And he had even more reason to smile after Joe Garner’s opener and Mike Fondop’s double guided Micky Mellon’s side to a 3-1 victory at Maidenhead.
