HASTINGS’ first game for a month saw them end a run of three defeats in league and cup that had disrupted their season.
Both sides were out of form and looked nervous on the ball, creating only a couple of half-chances between them as halftime arrived with the game still goalless.
However, that state of affairs did not last long and the second half was barely two minutes in when the deadlock was broken by United’s high-flying visitors.
