HOW many towns in the UK with a population of over 40,000 do not have their own football ground?
Well, Hatfield, in Hertfordshire, with a population close to 50,000, has been without a football ground for nearly 40 years! And, despite £870,000 sitting in a bank account for the purpose of building a community football ground, our local council have decided to use that money to install a 3G pitch and then hand it over to the Herts FA to administer on a 30-year peppercorn lease.
