CHESHUNT’S push for survival has been put on hold after a 3-1 defeat to Canvey Island at home.
It was an end-to-end start to the match. Darion Furlong had the ball in the net for Cheshunt after 13 minutes, but the referee blew for an earlier foul on the goalkeeper.
A perfectly weighted chip from Sam Higgins gave the visitors the lead. He picked the ball up on the left, saw Woody Williamson off his line and found the back of the net from more than 20 yards.
