ROMFORD’S two-goal Isuzu FA Vase hero Hassan Nalbant admits he nearly quit the game two years ago after suffering a knee injury.
The 29-year-old bagged a brace in his side’s 3-0 defeat of Great Wakering Rovers in last weekend’s Wembley final but explained that he had to be coaxed into playing again following a spell abroad.
“A couple of years ago I was thinking of quitting football,” he said. “I was abroad and I had knee injuries and stuff. I had to be talked into playing again.
