■ RUTHLESS Ascot United put Merstham to the sword as they romped to a big win under The Racecourse floodlights on Friday evening.
The hosts were four-up at the break after a devastating first half in which Anas Igozouln scored a classy brace, Sean McCormack fired a long-range thunderbolt and Liam Tack’s netted a first-time effort from Ollie Mason’s cross.
Merstham were frustratingly poor in front of their sizeable travelling support, although they were twice denied by the woodwork and home keeper Mark Scott.
