WHEN Leek Town hosted South Shields in an FA Cup tie in front of the television cameras last season, Tim Grice was a conflicted spectator.
Recovering after surgery to repair a back injury, the Blues’ record scorer watched on from the sidelines while his teammates recorded a famous win to knock out their esteemed guests.
“Everything,” Grice said, describing his emotions that after noon.
“I was excited, of course, to see the lads do well. And yet I struggled too because I didn’t feel part of it.”
