HORSHAM saw off a tough Canvey Island to progress to the next round with a hard-fought victory.
It wasn’t a first-half to write home about, but Horsham were marginally the better side, with Chris Dixon opening the scoring just before the break.
Lucas Rodrigues added to the scoring eight minutes after the interval, as Canvey Island struggled to match levels from previous years when it comes to cup competitions.
On this occasion, they found fellow Isthmian Premier outfit Horsham too tough a nut to crack.
