Proud Clitheroe go out with a fight

GAINSBOROUGH TRINITY deservedly made progress in the FA Trophy, but only after Clitheroe had given them a great run for their money in a high-quality encounter.
The home side started brightly and engineered a number of half chances, but the visitors took the lead after a poor clearance was pounced on. Javelle Clarke was clinical with his finish.
Clitheroe kept their composure and after Emerich Poilly was fouled on the byline after excellent work from Veron Parny, Luke Gill slotted the penalty home.
