THE second meeting of the sides in a week saw Southport follow up with a comfortable win after a local cup tie also resulted in a win for the Sandgrounders.
The first-half was a period of total domination for the home side with plenty of chances being created and the only surprise was the score was only 2-0 to Southport at the break.
It was Luke Burgess with both of the goals. The first came in the 13th minute after a mix-up between Daniel Atherton and Evan Gumbs allowed Burgess to slot home from close range.
