TORQUAY UNITED booked their place in the third round with a narrow victory over manager Paul Wotton’s former club Truro City.
The first chance of the game fell to Truro when Will Dean blasted a free-kick from 20 yards over the bar.
Two minutes later, Dom Johnson-Fisher fired straight at Torquay’s ex-Truro keeper James Hamon. On 19 minutes, Dean went close again as he drilled a low strike wide after being teed up by Yassine En-Neyah.
