■ UNDER-strength Chorley had a surprisingly straightforward passage against a Mariners side too easily opened up in defence and lacking conviction in the final third. Neat approach play down the left set up all three Magpies’ goals. Mo Touray’s clever lay-off on 19 minutes left Dubem Eze to rifle home a low drive and later Warren Clarke clipped the crossbar.
Marine began the second half with greater intensity but were undone on 52 minutes when Tom Carr supplied Touray for a near-post tap-in. It was a crucial blow for the visitors.
