CHICHESTER City broke Chatham Town hearts with a narrow win at the Bauvill Stadium, ending their play-off hopes.
The Chats thought they scored after less than a minute into the contest through Freddie Sears but the linesman made a late call to flag for offside.
It was a first half that lacked openings for either side, with the overriding jeopardy of the contest very clear.
However, the visitors did manage to strike late into the first period to take the lead against the run of play.
