■FRIDAY night saw Stanway Rovers put one solid hand on the championship, emerging 2-1winners over Halstead Town.
Ross Wall’s half-hour breakthrough gave them a slender lead, Owen Betts equalised eight minutes after the restart before George Okoye netted Rovers’ winner four minutes later, leaving them five points clear with two games left.
Elsewhere on Friday, Sam Shaban’s hat-trick helped Barking to a 3-1win over Romford, who originally led through Blaise Uwanji.
Takeley are the only other team who can clinch the title after overcoming Sawbridgeworth Town...
