SCRAPPED: The £70m facility

PLANS for a new £70m football facility in Cheshire, including a stadium to be used by Non-League clubs, have been abandoned. Those working on the proposal, predicted by them to become world renowned when it was unveiled in 2018, say they can’t raise enough money to make it work.
“The wider economic conditions and an inability to secure significant third-party funding have meant we’re not able to make the project work,” said Terry Harrop, chairman of Cheshire Football Centre.
