Chris Conn-Clarke departs Altrincham for Peterborough

have confirmed that Chris Conn-Clarke has left for Peterborough United.

The Northern Irish midfielder signed for Alty last summer from Fleetwood Town after two previous loan spells.

His form helped Altrincham reach the play-offs, where they were beaten in the semi-finals by eventual winners .

Conn-Clarke (pictured left in action against in the 2022/23 campaign) was voted National League Player of the Year after scoring 23 goals and assisting a further 12, which attracted the interest of several clubs.

League One Peterborough United eventually put in a successful bid, signing the former Burnley youngster on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

Altrincham manager Phil Parkinson paid tribute via the club’s official website:

“It’s a very proud moment for myself, the outgoing Rob Esteva, Neil and all the staff who are all involved with the development of a player, to see them move on to bigger and better things.
