Hartlepool United have completed the signing of midfielder Paddy McLaughlin from National League rivals Gateshead.
The 27-year-old attacking midfielder was an ever present figure in the Gateshead starting line up last season and has made 125 appearances for the club over the past three years.
McLaughlin began his career with Newcastle United but moved to York City in 2011 after failing to break into the first team picture at St James’ Park.
Whilst at York, the midfielder tasted success at Wembley on two occasions, winning both the FA Trophy and the National League play-off final.
Spells with Grimsby Town and Harrogate Town followed before McLaughlin moved to Gateshead in 2015.
The former Northern Ireland under 21 international underwent a medical at the Victoria Ground on Tuesday morning before linking up to train with his new team mates.
