Dagenham & Redbridge boss Peter Taylor has swooped to make his fourth signing of the summer by bringing in midfielder James Blanchfield.
Blanchfield played in the academy structure at Arsenal before joining Ipswich Town on a two-yea scholarship deal at the age of 16.
The midfielder made 53 appearances for Ipswich’s Under 23 side over the past two seasons but the Tractor Boys opted to allow Blanchfield to seek pastures new this summer.
The 20-year-old arrives at the Daggers with a degree of National League experience having spent a month on loan at Aldershot last season.
Speaking to Dagenham’s official club website, Blanchfield said, “I have been having talks for the past couple of weeks and to finally get everything done I am over the moon and can’t wait to get started and show the fans and the manager what I am capable of.”
“When the opportunity first came up, my Dad told me what a great manager Peter is and how lucky I am to get the opportunity to play under him, so I can’t wait to start learning from him.”
