Karleigh Osborne completes Aldershot move

National League club Aldershot have completed the signing of defender Karleigh Osborne from Grimsby Town .
The 30-year-old has made over 300 career appearances and represented sides within both the English Championship and Scottish Premier Division.
Osborne began his career with Brentford, where he picked up a League Two winners medal in 2009. The center back then made the move to London rivals Milwall in 2012 before leaving for Bristol City after finding first team opportunities hard to come by at The Den.
He went on to have spells with the likes of Colchester United, AFC Wimbledon and Kilmarnock before arriving at Blundell Park last summer.
Osborne featured ten times for Grimsby last season as the Mariners successfully avoided relegation from League Two.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Osborne said, ““I’ve known the gaffer for a long time and I wanted to play for him. He’s a great guy and this is a great club to be at.”
The center back continued, “He really showed me his passion and vision for the Club, and where he wants go. Playing under a manager who’s got a lot of belief in me is a huge factor – he wants to help me improve, and I hope to repay that faith that he has shown in me.
“This is a Club looking to go places and I’m really looking forward to the challenge. It’s going to be a tough season but one I’m really looking forward to. I’m experienced and I’ve played at a good level but I’m extremely hungry to get back on track. I’m not afraid to step back to go forwards again.”
