Ebbsfleet United have received a major boost ahead of the start of the National League season after it was announced that striker Michael Cheek has agreed to join the club.
Cheek was a formidable force in front of goal for Dagenham & Redbridge last season, finding the net 13 times in 34 appearances last season.
The 26-year-old joined the Daggers from Braintree last summer, where he caught the eye after scoring 24 times during the 2016/17 season.
Cheek began his career in the lower leagues with Stanway Rovers and Heybridge Swifts before securing a move to National League South side Chelmsford City in 2013, where he scored an impressive 35 goals in 55 starts.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Ebbsfleet boss Daryl McMahon said, “We tried to get Michael earlier in the year and we agreed a transfer in January. But he opted to stay then.
“He’d only just gone to Dagenham and he wanted to help them out with their problems at the time which is admirable of him and shows his character. But thankfully we’ve done the deal now just before the season starts.”
