Boreham Wood have pulled off a major coup with the signing of highly rated striker Idris Kanu on a “long term” loan deal from League One promotion chasers Peterborough United.
The 19-year-old frontman, who joined The Boro from Aldershot Town in the summer of 2017, enjoyed a short term loan spell with Port Vale earlier in the season before being recalled by his parent club.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Boreham Wood boss Luke Garrard said, “I remember him really, really clearly, when we played Aldershot Town away and he has carried the ball 80-yards and then gone and got his goal.
“If he can offer that up for me, for this football club, and for his teammates, I would be very excited about the prospect he is. He’s now at a period, where he needs to go and play games of football.
“Peterborough and Barry Fry have been fantastic and the relationship that my Chairman has with Barry Fry is unbelievable, because the deal was done within a matter of minutes.
“I am excited because he is a talent, I have had him in today and already seen glimpses of why he got the move to Peterborough.”
