Maidstone to appoint new boss this week

Reports from Kent Online suggest that strugglers Maidstone will have a permanent manager in place in time for this weekend.
Simon Walton and Tristan Lewis have been in caretaker charge of the Stones for the last six games since Harry Wheeler left the club just before the turn of the year.
Under Walton and Lewis, Maidstone have picked up three victories but still remain stranded in the National League drop zone.
Walton believes that whoever takes over the managerial reigns has an exciting foundation from which to move forward.
He told Kent Online. “There’s something to build on at this club.
“It’s a young group of players, regardless of who stays and goes.
“There’s a good core group of players that I think can produce results, whether it be this level or not this level.
“There’s a good base and a good foundation for somebody to build something here.”
Maidstone are currently six points adrift of safety after Saturday’s 3-0 defeat against in-form .
