National League leaders Leyton Orient have placed defender George Elokobi on the transfer list.
A statement on Orient’s official club website read, “following actions that didn’t meet Club standards at the league game against Ebbsfleet United, the decision has been made to make the defender available for transfer”.
The 32-year-old, who has been with the O’s since last summer, has enjoyed a distinguished playing career so far, representing the likes of Colchester United and Nottingham Forrest in the Football League, as well as enjoying three seasons with Wolves in the Premier League.
The tough tackling left back has featured 24 times for Orient since signing for the East London club.
It is not known what actions Elokobi took to be placed on the transfer list but the East London and West Essex Guardian stated that “reports on social media claim the 32-year-old defender refused to shake head coach Justin Edinburgh’s hand after being substituted”.
