Harrogate Town have submitted plans to lay a grass pitch at their Wetherby Road ground in anticipation of a potential promotion to the Football League.
Current rules prohibit the use of 3G surfaces in the Football League, but they are permitted throughout the Non-League pyramid.
Simon Weaver’s side are seeking back to back promotions and are currently sitting in seventh place in the National League table, with just 10 games left to play.
Two options are currently being considered, with the new grass to either be laid on top of the existing artificial 3G pitch, or for the current surface to be removed completely.
