CRAIG DAVIS has walked out on troubled Fleet Town after six years to join Hampshire rivals Winchester City.
Player-boss Davis has performed miracles at Calthorpe Park, steering the club to a healthy midtable spot in the Southern League Central despite severe financial restraints following the death of chairman Steve Cantle just before Christmas.
But now, following an approach from Southern South & West rivals Winchester, highly-rated Davis has tendered his resignation, marking the end of a successful era at the club.
