AFTER 38 years of supporting Ossett Town, I was both dismayed and devastated by the news that the club is to merge with town rivals Ossett Albion.
When I first moved to the area I visited both clubs. Albion made me feel very unwelcome whereas Town were completely the opposite.
I vowed after after that, and other miserable attempts to visit Albion, that I would never watch them again unless, of course, they were playing Town,
I don’t think I will be able to support the new club and will continue to wear my Town shirt and scarf with pride.
I will miss the club I have come to love.
