SUTTON hit the top of the National League with a victory that should have been more comfortable than it eventually proved.
Harry White’s penalty three minutes from time gave relegation- threatened Chester the chance of an unlikely point after the home side twice led with a two-goal cushion.
Midfielder Harry Beautyman gave the U’s an early lead before Byron Harrison extended it on the stroke of half-time.
