AHAT-TRICK from the National League’s leading scorer Adam Rooney handed title chasers Salford City a comfortable victory over a shell-shocked Aldershot.
Rooney struck a first-half brace to put the Ammies in control before strike partner Rory Gaffney made it three just seconds after the re-start.
And former Aberdeen striker Rooney completed his second hattrick in Salford colours from the penalty spot following a trip on Tom Walker.
