UNDERFIRE Hartlepool United boss Matthew Bates has denied rumours of a bust-up with star player Liam Noble on a team bus bound for Dover on Friday.
Noble, the club’s top scorer this season with seven goals from midfield, was surprisingly left out of the squad to face the relegation-haunted Whites.
Pools went onto suffer a fifth straight league defeat, going down 2-1 at Crabble, but Bates was quick to explain Noble’s absence simply stating he “wasn’t right” to play.
