When it comes to , the UK has a long lasting relationship with the sport. Your average Joe will support his hometown football team and the rest is history.  As much as the English Premier League is a massive hit with football fans worldwide, there are also other football leagues that all the top UK bookmakers cater for. The National Football league in the United Kingdom is one of those leagues that has a massive following. Dubbed the , all thanks to endorsements, the football competition is regarded almost as popular as the Premier League.

As we bring you this review, there are in total a group of 23 teams that are competing in the 2021-2022 National League, and the question dwelling in our minds is one:  which team will be the 2021/2022 National League Champion? Let’s break it down for you, and see which teams deserve the top ranked spot.

Grimsby Town – 29 points

Grimsby Town is one of those teams that have been delivering on each game played. The Northerners have played 12 games in total, taking home the win for 9, drawing 2 games and only suffering 1 loss. The Mariners have landed a total of 29 points so far. The last game played for Grimsby was the bout against , which saw the team snatch another 2-0 win solidifying their pole position in the National League.  If we had to break down Grimsby’s skills, we’d say the team is unstoppable, with bookies in Great Britain already placing them with good odds to lift the winning trophy.

– 25 points

Chesterfield is another team that has been doing relatively well when it comes to delivering some very good football skills in the National League.  Just like Grimsby Town they have also played 12 games, however their end results are not so great.  , also known as the Spirited have won 7 of the games, drew 4 games and suffered only 1 loss.  As the National League table currently stands, Chesterfield are placed 2nd in the league table, trying to reach the very top. If Chesterfield want to win the National League for 2021/2022, they need to buckle up and turn some of their games into wins. The 2 games that are coming out for Chesterfield including matches against and Dagenham & , wins that the team obsessively craves to reach the top ranked spot.

– 24 points

If there is one team that is fighting tooth and nail to keep the top 3 position, it has to be Boreham Wood. The team is just 1 point away from Chesterfield in the league table, with the players vowing to knock their opponents off the 2nd spot once the  week’s games are over. Boreham Wood have won 7 of their played games, drew 3 and lost 2 games.  If Borenham win the next 2 games and Chesterfield suffer an upset, the latter will fall to 3rd place, with Borenham taking the silver spot. As things stand, Borenham could still touch and go for the 1st position, however with the stamina that The Woods have is commendable. Future decisive games include matches against and Southend United, 6 points that Boreham Wood definitely need following the 2-1 loss to Chesterfield.

FC Halifax – 23 points

We did mention that the standings of the National League are quite close, and another close contender to the top 2 spots is definitely FC Halifax. The team has landed 23 points in total, winning 7 football matches, drawing 2 and suffering 3 losses. There is only 1 point that separates FC Halifax from the top 3 sport that Boreham Wood hold, and only 2 points away from the 2nd place that Chesterfield comfortably enjoy. Feel that FC Halifax need to pull their socks up and make sure to strive for upsets and win in the upcoming matches.  With only a few points separating teams, this is the time to gain as many points as they can, and blow goals one after the other.
