Barnet boss Dean Brennan was sent off by referee Matthew Dicicco after his side was denied a penalty late on.
Brennan hit out after striker Idris Kanu went down under a heavy challenge but instead received a yellow card for simulation.
Fortunately, for the Bees, however, it mattered little after substitute Marvin Armstrong netted a deserved Barnet winner eight minutes from time.
The Bees had put in a good first half display and were leading from a fine finish by top scorer Nicke Kambamba.
