Eastleigh sign Luis Fernandez

side have announced Luis Fernandez as their first summer signing.

The centre-back has spent the last two seasons at , where he made 73 appearances and scored eight goals.

-born Fernandez started his career at Stevenage in 2019, and enjoyed loan spells with and .

Following his release from the Hertfordshire club, the 22-year-old signed for Hampton where he impressed in his two seasons with the outfit.

Eastleigh have signed him on an undisclosed fee.

When asked about what attracted him to join Fernandez told the official Eastleigh website:

“Kelvin [Davis] and Danny [Butterfield] were close to my manager at Hampton & Richmond FC so when I found out that they were interested in me, I spoke to Mel [Gwinnett] and he couldn’t speak more highly of them.

“They were two people that I really wanted to come and work with.”

The news of his departure falls on the same day that Alan Julian was appointed Gwinnett’s successor as Hampton & Richmond manager.
