The winger is ‘dale’s first signing of the summer, having won the and finished in the top six in his only season at Gateshead last term.

McBride credited manager Jim McNulty as a main reason for joining.

Speaking to the official Rochdale AFC website, McBride said:

“They were in the league only a couple of years ago and have a good fanbase. Most importantly, the manager is the reason I joined.

“The way he sees the game is similar to how I see it. The style of play suits me and I can’t wait to work for him. It made it an easy decision for me to come. He wants to get the ball down and play, which suits me, and I’m looking forward to working with him.”

Rochdale finished 11th last season in their first season outside the League for 102 years.
