Yeovil Town have signed goalkeeper Ollie Wright on a season-long loan from Premier League Southampton.
It’s Wright’s third loan spell away from St Mary’s. He started last season at hometown club Bath City in National League South, where he kept four clean sheets in 15 appearances.
A dislocated shoulder at Tonbridge Angels in October ended his spell with the Romans, but he appeared later in the campaign for Worthing.
The 21-year-old played in the Promotion Final defeat to Braintree Town, meaning all three clubs he was involved with in 2023/24 reached the play-offs!
Wright will be in competition with Will Buse at Huish Park, who replaced him at Bath following his injury.
Glovers boss Mark Cooper was delighted to get the signing over the line. He told the club’s official website:
“The process to finalise the deal was rigorous and required numerous presentations and conversations against other National League and Football League clubs to bring him here.
“Ollie has a commanding presence and made a strong impression when we faced him last season against Worthing.”
