Gateshead could head into the 3pm fixtures top of the National League.
The Heed host Yeovil Town in a lunchtime kick-off. They have seven points from nine after being held to a 1-1 with FC Halifax Town on Tuesday, Owen Oseni’s opener cancelled out two minutes later by Adam Senior. Yeovil will leapfrog Gateshead if they defeat them – a reward for any Glovers fans making the early morning 700-mile round trip from Somerset.
Eastleigh are the only side with three wins from three. They travel to Altrincham, who won a ‘Robins Derby’ on Tuesday at Maidenhead United.
Sutton United and York City both have seven points from nine and meet in Surrey. Having defeated Altrincham 5-0 at the weekend, Lewis Simper’s goal was enough for the U’s on Tuesday at Wealdstone. His strike was in the 11th minute, York’s Ricky Aguiar netted even earlier, his fourth minute finish was enough to fend off Rochdale.
Barnet‘s Zak Brunt scored in added time to deflate 10-man Forest Green Rovers. That ended their unbeaten start, they’ll be hoping to repeat the feat at the Hive against Southend United, who have five points from three matches. Rochdale host Forest Green with both sides looking to return to winning ways.
Solihull Moors have lost both of their away games. They’ll look to bounce back at home to a buoyant Braintree Town, who secured their first win this term on Tuesday.
Boston United are the only side without a goal to their name. The bottom markers host Tamworth, who haven’t netted since their opening day draw with Sutton United, losing both since. Both were promoted from National League North last term.
Like Boston, Wealdstone, Maidenhead United and Ebbsfleet United are all searching for their first point. Wealdstone are at Hartlepool, Maidenhead travel to AFC Fylde and Ebbsfleet are home to Woking. The Cards picked up their first win on Tuesday over Dagenham & Redbridge, Charley Kendall recording their first goal this campaign, while Ebbsfleet have conceded a league high 10.
Oldham dropped their first points on Tuesday. Still sat in a handy fourth spot, they head to Aldershot Town on Saturday.
Friday’s fixture saw Dagenham & Redbridge draw 1-1 with Halifax. Josh Rees’ opener for the Daggers was cancelled out by Andrew Oluwabori.
