The wind and rain were driving hard into my overcoat as I squirmed through the narrow turnstile of Basford United, decked out in multiple layers of clothes to keep the storms at bay.
My damp match ticket presented to the staff like a semi wet flannel. The Nottingham based ground is tucked away in a housing estate, not far from the tram stop at David Lane.
