GATESHEAD, rocked by a number of high profile departures and injuries to nine senior players, earned a battling point in their top-five clash with National League big guns Oldham on Tyneside.
A depleted Heed ended January winless but under the circumstances this was a point gained and for Oldham a missed opportunity to bounce back from two damaging home defeats this week.
Gateshead had ended a memorable and historic 2024 with five straight wins but that was with a much stronger squad, rookie manager Carl Magnay facing an unwanted mid-season rebuild.
