Hartlepool United have signed Roshaun Mathurin on loan from Premier League Crystal Palace.
The left-sided winger came through the youth teams at Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea before becoming a regular for Palace’s U21 side last season, claiming 11 goals and 14 assists from 38 outings.
Mathurin’s only previous taste of men’s football was in the EFL Trophy against Stevenage last month. He joins a Hartlepool side who are currently 10th in the National League.
Manager Darren Sarll told the club website:
“With the way Crystal Palace operate within their development programme, you can see why they are a leading organisation in homegrown player development. We thank them for assisting us in bringing Roshaun to Hartlepool United.
“He will of course need a period of acclimatisation to be optimal within our team organisation, but I’m looking forward to seeing him play.
“I hope we can give him a warm reception and welcome him to our Football Club – hopefully he has the best of experiences with us.”
The 20-year-old in line to make his debut tomorrow against FC Halifax Town at the Prestige Group Stadium.
His loan spell will expire in January.
