Hereford FC appoint Gloucester City boss Marc Richards as head coach

Hereford FC have ended their search for Peter Beadle’s successor and have appointed boss Marc Richards as their new head coach.

Harris said: “We were inundated with excellent applications for this role and drew up a shortlist of four candidates to interview.
“All of them were very impressive and had skills which would fit with the new football strategy that the club is moving forward with. However, after lengthy discussions, it was felt that Marc was the best candidate overall and that he would be offered the role. We are delighted he has accepted it.
“Marc is a highly respected coach and an intelligent, progressive, forward-thinking young man. I believe he will prove to be an excellent fit for this football club and for all we are looking to achieve.

“These include Ghanaian international, Abdul Majeed Waris, who played in the 2014 World Cup for his country and is currently on loan at Nantes from FC Porto, and David Accam, who has so far been awarded 10 international caps for Ghana and is currently playing for Philadelphia Union in the MLS after previous spells with Ostersunds FK, Helsingborgs and Chicago Fire.
“Closer to home Marc also featured heavily in the development of Jimmy Oates – who he first met when playing out in Australia – and Mustapha Bundu, two names that will be very familiar to Bulls fans.

Richards added: “I feel extremely honoured and proud to be given the opportunity to join . I cannot wait to get started and am very excited about the potential the club has and the possibilities I believe we can achieve.
“While I am sad to be leaving Gloucester City AFC and would like to thank everyone there for all the support they have given me, quite simply I feel this is an opportunity that I couldn’t turn down.”
Richard’s first game in charge at Edgar will be Saturday’s tie against Welling.
