Chester FC deny making an illegal approach for AFC Telford United midfielder Adam Dawson

FC have denied making an illegal approach for AFC Telford midfielder Adam Dawson.
Telford announced on their club website that the 26-year-old had left the club to join their North rivals, but revealed they had received information suggesting Chester had already made contact with him regarding a move before a seven-day approach was submitted.
The statement read: “Manager Gavin Cowan received confirmation from the player on Sunday evening that he wanted to leave The New Bucks Head to find a new club closer to his home in Manchester.
“The club then received information yesterday afternoon to suggest Chester had already made contact with the player regarding a move and that Adam was meeting them last night to agree terms without the football club receiving an official 7 day approach to allow permission for Chester to speak to him.
“The football club have this morning reported this incident to the FA & The National League and are awaiting their response.
“No further comment will be made at this time.”
Chester have responded and denied any wrongdoing.
“Chester Football Club are aware of a statement made today by regarding Adam Dawson,” a statement read,
“As a club we strenuously deny any wrongdoing and believe we have acted within all FA guidelines throughout the transfer negotiations with both Adam and his previous Club. We await FA ratification of this deal.
“At present the Club have no further comment to make on the situation.”
