Curzon Ashton sack long-standing boss John Flanagan

have sacked manager John Flanagan after seven years in charge.
The North side are winless in their last five league games and were knocked out of the last Saturday by the ‘s .
The shock decision comes after Flanagan won two promotions with Curzon to take them into Step 2, the highest level the club has operated at, and then avoided relegation for the past three seasons on a modest budget.
Curzon currently sit four points above the drop and seven off the play-off places although recent results haven’t been good enough for the club’s board.
A statement read: “The Club regret to announce that due to recent results a decision has been taken to replace John Flanagan as the Curzon Ashton Manager.
“Over the past 7 years John has done a tremendous job, gaining two promotions resulting in Curzon playing at the highest level in its history.
“We would like to thank John for his hard work over the years and wish him well for the future.”
