DISASTROUS defending cost Welling United as St Albans City claimed a well-deserved win that allowed them to leapfrog the Wings in the league table.
Michael Johnson made an outstanding save in the opening exchanges to keep out Amadou Kassarate’s header that was dipping in, and Antony Papadopoulos drew another one out of him with a low shot.
Ade Azeez glanced a Taylor Maloney delivery wide when unmarked before Welling gifted St Albans the lead. Maloney’s back pass left Myles Roberts stranded, and Jeffers slotted home...
