SOUTHPORT cruised to victory, seeing off South Shields in a wet and windy affair.
A second successive clean sheet saw the home side win in the league for the first time since August after a run of Four games without a victory.
It was visitors South Shields who came close after eight minutes with Martin Smith hitting the crossbar.
Southport took the lead with the first shot on target after Matthew Thomson headed a clearance back in and it was Tom Moore with a striker’s finish, volleying past Kyle Seymour.
