It was a night of shock results in National League North as the top three all lost, with fourth place Curzon Ashton following suit last night.
Relegation battlers Marine stunned Chorley as they secured an impressive 3-0 win, just their third victory of the season.
Enock Lusiama scored a brace either side of half-time before Finley Sinclair-Smith converted a penalty to secure the shock success over the Magpies, ending their three-match winning run.
King’s Lynn Town failed to take advantage as they came tumbling down to a 2-0 loss to Farsley Celtic. Darren Stephenson and Manasse Mampala scored in the first-half to grab the win for the Villagers, giving them some much needed joy in a turbulent spell off the pitch.
Spennymoor Town edged Scunthorpe United in a rollercoaster of a 3-2 home victory. Ross Barrows gave the visitors the lead just after the half-hour mark but Matthew Dolan equalised seven minutes later. Isaac Fletcher scored from the spot just before half-time to retake the lead for Moors, before the Iron levelled again with a late penalty by Callum Roberts. Robert Ramshaw snatched the winner for Spennymoor three minutes later.
Buxton beat ten-men Scarborough Athletic 2-0. Boro’ had Alex Brown sent off in the opening 20 minutes for a professional foul. Connor Kirby scored a penalty just before half-time and added a second later to wrap up the win.
Peterborough Sports enjoyed a 3-1 win over Alfreton Town to climb away from the relegation zone. A stunning hat-trick from Michael Gyasi in the final 11 minutes won it for the Turbines.
Oxford City enjoyed a 2-0 win away to Hereford. Alex Babos was shown a second yellow card just before half-time for the Bulls and Ross Jenkins’ men eventually took advantage, Josh Ashby and Josh Parker scoring in the final six minutes to help the Hoops move away from the relegation spots.
Radcliffe beat Leamington a cagey affair with a 2-1 triumph. Richard Smith and Jordan Hulme scored either side of Henry Landers’ initial equaliser for the Brakes.
That prevented Leamington climbing back into the play-offs and allowed Kidderminster Harriers to overtake them on Wednesday night thanks to a 1-0 win at Curzon Ashton.
The bottom two in the table faced off on Tuesday which saw Rushall Olympic and Needham Market draw 1-1, leaving them five and six points from safety respectively.
Darlington moved to within a point of Chester with a 1-0 win thanks to a goal from Cedric Main while Brackley Town and Warrington Town played out the only goalless clash of the evening.
