SOUTHPORT chairman Charlie Clapham MBE has resigned with immediate effect citing recent attacks on social media and press.
Port fans have been protesting in recent weeks – with a walk-out planned for their final home game with Lincoln City – over the way their club has been run.
It’s been a miserable season on the pitch with two managers Andy Bishop and Steve Burr both sacked and the club suffering relegation from the National League.
Vice chairman Sam Shrouder and directors Haydn Preece and Dave Barron are due to step down at the end of the season.
