LEISTON defeated Wingate & Finchley to keep their slender play-off hopes alive as they produced a determined and gutsy performance to run away with the result when it mattered most.
On a freezing cold afternoon, the visitors went closest first as Irnti Rapai’s shot went just wide of Marcus Garnham’s right hand post when it seemed destined for the net.
Leiston nearly took the lead but Christy Finch’s toe poke from Kyle Hammond’s corner was cleared off the line by a Wingate defender.
