ROBBIE DALE scored directly from a corner to earn Blyth an important win at Southport.
Dale struck in the 52nd minute when his high corner from the left dipped under the home crossbar, lifting them three points above the relegation zone.
The result moves Blyth up to 17th in the table, providing the ideal response to their FA Cup exit against York City last weekend.
It could have been a different story had Southport taken any of the chances they created in the opening stages.
