JASON GILCHRIST and Jack Sampson were on target as Southport registered a third straight league win against Alfreton.
Gilchrist put Port on their way after just 80 seconds and the home team did not look back, although they had to dig deep after Reece Styche reduced their lead in the second half.
Southport got off to the perfect start, with Gilchrist steering the ball home after Ryan Astles touched on Dion Charles’ free-kick.
